When I was out in California back in May to photograph my sisters wedding I had mentioned the possibility of trying to get some engagement pictures for her. I tell all my couples that an engagement session gives you a good idea of what it will feel like wedding day and you will know exactly what to do, think of it as relaxed practice... and it was no different for my sister. So when I land in Los Angeles, we decided that evening to drive up to Vasquez Rocks in Aqua Dulce and snap some pictures at sunset. When we got there Kasey and I were waiting for Trenton to arrive, as I was testing the light and my camera on Kasey we heard a ranger announce over a loud speaker that the park would be closing in just 15 minutes. We were so bummed, but I chatted quick with the ranger and found out that they were only closing to parked cars in the park (meaning he wanted to close the gate and go home) but if we walked back in to the park that would be just fine. So we all put out walking shoes on and headed back into the park and captured the last few minutes of golden hour with a beautiful view! Since this session was just days before the wedding, it wasn't until just a couple weeks ago that it was brought to my attention that I never fully posted these pictures! I uploaded a couple the day of their wedding, but this session was too pretty not to share more of it with the world!
Engagement
Uptown Charlotte Engagement Session | Nicole and Anthony /
Can't believe this session was almost a year ago and that their wedding has already come and gone! A year passes in the blink of an eye, and I remember chatting with them about how being pregnant was, and how excited we were to start our family and now Indy is 7 months old! These two were literally so much fun to hang out with as we strolled the streets of Charlotte and danced around in Romare Bearden Park and on the rooftops of parking decks! So excited to share their wedding pictures soon!
Outdoor Engagement Photography | Lindsey & Nathan /
Lindsey and Nathan are two very sweet people and the love they have for each other is infectious! We had an absolute blast during their engagement pictures, and even got to include their dog Kuma in a few! Can't wait for their wedding at Loray Mill in October!
Landsford Canal Engagement Session | Colleen & Bryan /
We had such an adventure with these two on the day of their engagement session! Not realizing that the rangers would be shutting down the park on us we ran through Landsford Canal to get to the spots that Colleen and Bryan have enjoyed walking through together! And then got the rest on the side of the road just past the park gates after the park closed! I can't believe that it has already been a year and that they will be getting married at Roof with a View in Charlotte today! The next time these two visit this park they will be husband and wife!
Charlotte Engagement Session | Emily & Michael /
Emily and Michael are too cute together and just fit one another. I loved hanging out with them for their engagement session, they were just so natural behind the camera and it shows in the images. We met at Alexander Michael's which is where they had their first date and were so excited when the vintage green chevy truck was parked out front! After that we headed to freedom park and just strolled around the park, and ended the evening with a beautiful view of the Charlotte skyline and a gorgeous pink sunset! I cannot wait to see the two of them get married this spring at The Ivy Place!
