Engagement

Indian Land, SC Engagement Photographer | Sarah & Will | Ivy Place Events | Yah Photography by Kelli Conley

Sarah and Will are too cute for words! I was so excited when we started to plan their engagement session and Sarah said they were interested in incorporating an old flag. Will has proudly served multiple tours in the military and they are both very patriotic! This sparked my creative juices flowing and we all had a bunch of fun incorporating the flag into a variety of shots, while still capturing the fun spirit of the relationship that has brought the two of them together. Their wedding next spring at The Ivy Place is going to be so fun and beautiful, I just can't wait! 2013-09-30_0001.jpg2013-09-30_0002.jpg 2013-09-30_0003.jpg 2013-09-30_0004.jpg 2013-09-30_0005.jpg

Ivy Place Engagement Photography | Whitney & Andrew | yah Photography by Kelli Conley

It always makes me smile when someone tells me they love my work, because everything has a more candid feel and is not so “posey” but what a lot of people do not realize is that almost every shot has to start out in some sort of pose with a lot of direction. We are all not naturally smooth and candid, we feel awkward behind a camera especially because someone is watching our every move. With Andrew and Whitney this was the exact case. During our initial meeting, Andrew told me he didn’t want to be standing there putting their hands in the shape of hearts, and looking at each other with cheesy faces… and my response was “just trust me”. During the session I kept telling him just trust me and pulled out a variety of tricks I had under my sleeve to get the exact expressions I wanted, and their pictures turned out AMAZING! I cannot wait for their wedding next year in Charleston, the two of them will be just as much fun to work with down there! Whitney_1 Whitney_2 Whitney_3 Whitney_4 Whitney_5

McDowell Nature Preserve Engagement Photography | Charlotte, NC | Suzanne & Tyler by Kelli Conley

Suzanne and Ty are adorable together! Suzanne picked the McDowell Nature Preserve as the location for their engagement session because it is one of her all time favorite places to be, and because that is where Ty proposed. She picked out a couple places that meant the most to her, and let me go from there! I wanted to really capture her fun loving spirit and super cute laugh, as well as Ty's adoration for his fiance  When we got to the lake and the spot where Ty actually proposed, the sky opened up and everything turned out beautifully! I can't wait to Photograph their beautiful wedding! Suzanne_1-01 Suzanne_2-01 Suzanne_3-01-01

Field Trial Barn Engagement Photography | Fort Mill, SC | Mina & Scott by Kelli Conley

Mina & Scott are poster kids for fun and "goofy", their chosen word for themselves after six years of being together.  The weather this spring has been so crazy that this session had been postponed a couple of times, and finally we said it doesn't matter we are doing it rain or shine! Despite the weather and rescheduling a couple times, we knew Mina & Scott's engagement session would happen this time, rain or shine! The two of them have been together for six years now and when talking with Mina about her and Scott's relationship over the years and what they enjoy together, it was all about a good game of scrabble. So we set it up amongst the peach trees at the Greenway, and I told them to have at it! Mina is also super creative, and so she brought a couple of pinwheels she had made that kind of go with the carnival theme of her wedding. I was so excited to play around with them more, but it started to rain on us… so we made the best of it and played around with the umbrella instead. And just to top off the evening we made sure to stop by and enjoy some strawberries, and incorporate the Field Trail Barn, which is venue that will be used for the wedding! Baxter Village Family Photography | Fort Mill, South Carolina by Kelli Conley

Stephanie had contacted me only a few weeks ago to see if we could get some great family, and couples pictures for their destination wedding in Florida. They wanted to take the pictures in Baxter Village where they met. We scheduled the session on the one year anniversary of their first date, which was at Six Pence Pub. We photographed all over the place and their son Ford was such a trooper with a high of only 49 and heavy gusts of wind. I can't wait to see pictures from their wedding in Florida and wish them all the happiness in the world!IMG_0784 IMG_0788 IMG_0825 IMG_0864 IMG_0972 IMG_0996 IMG_1013 IMG_1069 IMG_8581 IMG_8620
